When people speak of Uzbekistan, their mind go to the awe-inspiring Islamic architecture of the Registan in Samarkand or the Kalon Minaret in Bukhara or the walled city of Khiva, but the country’s capital city, Tashkent is just as amazing.

Truth be told - while it was on Samarkand and Bukhara that I had pinned my hopes for the Uzbekistan Silk Road trip - it was Khiva that stole my heart in the end.
