RWANDA
Rwanda – this tiny landlocked country in Africa has come a long way from 1994 Genocide that wiped off nearly a third of the total population. Today it is a model country in the entire continent, with great infrastructure, and investment opportunities.
The country banned the use of plastic and street-food and the result is fantastic. There are so many places of interest in Rwanda – and in the city of Kigali, the capital, the most important one, historically being the Genocide Memorial.
The markets of Kigali are colourful, the people friendly and most importantly, the trust and respect with which they treat each other is simply amazing. one thing that stands out from the rest of the countries on the continent is the absence of street food – this is strictly banned all over the country for hygienic reasons.
That being said, food in Rwanda is locally produced and therefore is wholesome and fresh.
