Cambodia, as a tourist destination should rank higher than it currently does. I have spent some wonderful weeks here, traveling and eating cheap.

Kep, a tiny sea-side town in Cambodia, once ruled by the French is often overlooked by tourists, because, apart from the lazy white beaches, Rabbit Island, an abandoned (or haunted) Bokor Palace and Hotel in Kampot, some caves, Kep National Park and pepper plantations - there is not much to hold a tourists attraction.

It was not surprising that the Killing Fields in Phnom Penh didn’t attract eager visitors - Choeung Ek Genocidal Centre (famous as Killing Fields), a grim tourist attraction, is a lesson in Cambodia's turbulent history.

I inevitably begin Cambodia with a hmmmm, like a prelude to a long and interesting story. Then I plunge straight into the story with - "Killing Fields."

I liked to pretend that eating tarantulas was all right and after a while, I forgot that it was not, when I snapped the legs and put it into my mouth.
