Fujairah is not very rich or has a thriving tourism industry like its counterpart Dubai or Abu Dhabi, but it does have a few good options. It is definitely catching up on the tourism bit and give it a few year, Fujairah is definitely going to have a huge spike in the number of tourists. Of late, several resorts, in addition to the existing ones, have opened up to accommodate the rising number of people (both internal and tourists), flocking to the emirate in search of peace, quiet and sea adventure, with the government planning to open many more.

However Fujairah sadly lacks more budget options, although there is one YHA backpacker’s hostel near the beach (rooms cost AED75 or $25- 971-9-2222347) but you require an advance booking.

A number of hotels and hotel apartments are located along the Hamad bin Abdulla Street within easy distance to the Corniche, restaurants and the shopping malls. With the rising number of tourists in the region, the lack of mid-range and cheap hotels can surely be seen as a detriment to the growth of tourism. Plans are on to develop tourist villages, entertainment and tour programmes which will attract more tourists to the region.
