Tanzania evokes images of springing lions, snow clad Mt Kilimanjaro, tall and dark Maasai men…vast green savannahs and great coffee. My own experiences brought me face to face with all this and more. Vibrant markets, curious children, banana beer, ugaali and daladalas – everything works is perfect harmony here. I am glad to share all my experiences right here – from preparing myself to climb the world’s highest free standing mountain to getting robbed and molested, but finally putting it all behind me and loving it all.

My reasons to love Tanzania are many. For one, it was the first real African country that I traveled and it was also here that I first tasted success on my fledgling mountaineering career – Mt Kilimanjaro.
